Hatchery Lighting Upgrades - Posted Feb 20, 2026

We have finally begun upgrading our Hatchery Lighting. Over the years much of it has failed, and not been replaced. We have removed all of the old incandescent bulbs and replaced them with LED type. In this photo you can see the old lighting. Notice that several of them are burnt out.

Also we are mounting an LED light at each end of every tank, shining into the water. These will be a great improvement for our daily cleaning activities. Photos will be posted when this phase is completed.

As part of these upgrades we have also ordered another Adult Rearing Tank. This addition will provide us with improved flexibility in keeping the various species and ages separate, within the Hatchery.
