FIN CLIPPING

This is a process where a fin will be partially clipped.  Each year the clip location changes so that when an angler reports a fin clip on a fish they caught - that information, through angler diaries or phone calls helps us identify when the fish was stocked and how well it is doing.

Everyone was welcome to participate and/or observe.

The event started at 9 am and it took about 3 hr.s

 

They had 27 volunteers involved in fin clipping

6000 Haliburton Gold lake trout fingerlings. They will be

stocked in Haliburton County lakes in early May.
