The original six is usually a phrase you would here in reference to hockey, however here at the Haliburton Highlands Outdoors Association we refer to this as our founding fathers of the organization. These six men took the time and the initiative to develop and organize the H.H.O.A. with the intent to support and encourage hunting and fishing activities. Since the initial creation of the organization, it has grown to encompass more and has expanded to cover all outdoor activities, as well as incorporate community involvement and development. Thanks to their initiative the H.H.O.A. expanded enough to build and run the HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS FISH HATCHERY and the production of our Haliburton Gold Lake Trout.

Since 1995 the Haliburton Highlands Outdoors Association has been operated by a Board of Directors. Over the years the H.H.O.A. has been overseen by a president. Part of the reason the H.H.O.A. has succeeded in its endeavors has been due to the dedication and leadership offered by each of these individuals.
